Am I right to feel annoyed?

My eldest son who’s 11 sees his dad once a fortnight (his choice due to his commitments).
He unfortunately didn’t see him last fortnight as he was unwell which fell on the weekend of my sons birthday.
He has come back today and said his dad and his dads gf didn’t buy him a present or even a card for his birthday? He used the excuse oh well I haven’t seen you for a month?

Sorry and that matters why? His birthday is on the same date every year. A card doesn’t cost much!
This is twice it’s happened now.

Really annoyed as when it’s his partners children’s birthdays they spend a fortune on them!

Well, you’re son is going to see what his dad is really like now. Unfortunately.

I just feel so sad for my son that his dad has done this. I don’t get why someone would? I honestly can’t get my head around it. So upset

My dad took his new family to Disney without me a couple of times. They had central heating, we had none.
I have a great relationship with my dad now, but I never forget what he did. Mum was always there for me.
