Will my milk supply drop now my period is back?!

I'm five months into breast feeding (nearly) and my period has made a come back today. Most people I've spoken to who breast feed never had their period for months and months or up to a year so this seems really early... does this mean my supply will drop? I'm really worried 😭

My understanding is that your period is to some extent detirmined by the amount you are bf anyway. I have had 6 dc and my periods returned at about 6 months with all of them.
No it doesn’t mean your supply will drop at all. I breast fed all mine way after my periods retuned. Remember you baby will be soon starting to explore non milk foods anyway.

My periods returned at 4 months and I’m still bf now and my toddler is 2.5 yrs old. Some people experience a dip in their supply around their period, not enough to mean they don’t have enough milk but enough that they may notice their little one needs to feed more frequently for a few days. Many people find taking a magnesium supplement helps with this but I always forget to take mine.
