Double/tandem buggy recommendations

I’m pregnant and due in August and my DD will turn 2 in May.
I’ve been reading around and decided to try a tandem (stacked) buggy for them both as I love walking and this was a great form of exercise for me when I had my little girl.
DD happy to sit in pram, don’t think a buggy board type thing would be appropriate as she’ll just get off. It won’t allow me to have a proper walk.
I want my DD to be at the front as I don’t think she’ll like being at the back.
Anyone have any recommendations?
I don’t care what it looks like as long as it isn’t bright pink or something, I don’t want to spend a fortune on something that will probably have a short shelf life and I will definitely be trying to get one second hand. Just want it to be as practical as possible!
I don’t plan on trying to get in anywhere other than a supermarket as when I go to cafes etc it’ll be with my original single pram/carrier and DD can walk.
Love to hear some thoughts!

I've got an ABC design zoom. Best purchase I ever made.

Fabulous! I’ll have a look thank you. Does your older child sit in the front?
Thanks!

I know you said you wanted one in front of the other, but if you can find a 2nd hand out and about nipper, you won't be disappointed. Best double I've ever pushed

Tandems are a nightmare with a heavy toddler, they lose maneuverability.
I much preferred a side by side double we had with our twins, had tandem with 2nd & 3rd with a 16.5mth gap. We had a zeta vooom double which was great from birth until the twins would walk all the time, loved it so much we have the single version for our 7mth old.

Out n about nipper without a doubt.

Great for off-roading and extremely easy to push. The newer v4 model fits through every single door I’ve come across.

Out n About Nipper is fantastic. Picked one up second hand and have used it daily since.

Pretty sure I had the original v1, it was over 10 years ago now. Used it for best part of 4 years (3 kids) and I only ever found 1 door it wouldn't fit through, and that was in a grade 1 listed building.

Uppababy Vista has served me well. There's 18 months between my children.

Not a tandem but I’ve a city mini and it’s great goes through almost all doors and was very cheap on Facebook

proworrier · 19/03/2022 19:27

Wouldn't go near a tandem with a toddler and a baby myself. Tried it. Awful to push. Out n about 360 nipper- absolutely fantastic. Push with one hand. Really manoeuvrable. Can go anywhere. Brilliant brilliant pram. It was a sad day when I sold mine on! I bought it second hand and got pretty much what I paid for it when I sold it on 18m later.

Yes. The seats are interchangeable though so you can change the directions as you want.

Also an uppababy vista fan

Don’t agree with these comments at all, I had an icandy tandem and it was lovely to push, very easy and not heavy at all! I had it with all of my children, I wouldn’t use a side by side one personally.

Louisa4987 · 19/03/2022 20:14

Another vote for the out n about! Tandems are a nightmare to push with anything heavier than a small baby in the front seat. My toddler is very small for her age and our tandem is horrible to push.
