How many poos a day for a 5 month old breastfed baby?

My little girl is exclusively breastfed and poos up to six times a day! She has a dairy and soya intolerance (which I found out after she had bloody poos) so I have removed both from my diet but she is still pooing a lot! She feeds every hour or so still. Just wondering if this amount of dirty nappies is normal? She's 17 pounds so a good weight and seems generally happy/not in discomfort.

Yeah, that is fine, especially if she is thriving. I remember a health visitor telling me "it's a liquid diet, what did you expect?!" jokingly. Some babies are much less, some are more, all fine if she is well. Sounds like you're doing grand tbh.

Varies from several times a day to once every 10 days ... all are normal. I had an every 5 day dd, we didn't go out that day!

Can be fine, DS2 was the same - pooed after every feed until weaning.

i'm not sure we've ever reached your 6 poops a day but certainly come close! i think it's quite normal for breastfed babies to poo loads and then sometimes not for a few days. mine's just started solids and although she's pooing less they are so stinky and sticky and thick, it makes me miss the old poos:(
