Hi I found out via pregnancy test that I’m 4-5 weeks pregnant u have to wait 3 weeks to see a midwife, I suffer terrible anxiety and I’m worrying if anything happens to the baby. Is there any way I can get a scan or use something in boots to head heartbeat or is it to early? X

You won’t get a scan until 12 weeks. The midwife appointment is just to “book you in” and get all your details.

You can book a private scan from around 6 weeks I think which is the earliest a heartbeat can be detected.

Good luck x

You can book a private early scan - I think 6wks is the earliest you can do that. But would caution that sometimes that's still too early to really see anything, so could potentially cause more anxiety. I'd wait until at least 9wks to do an early scan.

Definitely don't get a heartbeat doppler. It is really difficult to use them properly and hear the heartbeat - and again, until 6wks earliest you won't hear anything anyways.
