What do you pay a teenage babysitter?

I've asked my 15yo sister to take my 2 little ones to a soft play centre at the weekend so I can run some errands child free.
I will of course cover all expenses but I have no idea how much is reasonable to pay her, these days.
She's helped my mum look after them before, because mum is disabled and can't do the physical running around, and I've always bought her a little something to say thanks for helping with them instead of going off and being a teenager. This is the first time I've actually asked her to babysit them on her own though.

When I was a teenager babysitting for family/neighbors it was £5/hour. But that was 10 years ago and the kids were generally sweethearts who would sit and draw or watch cartoons etc.
My eldest is a terror.

How much do you pay teenage family/friends to babysit?

Tricky, as my dc would look after their little cousins for free, as they enjoy spending time with them, and it would be a novelty as a one off and they would know they were helping (in your case) their sister out.

But if it weren't a one off, and you are needing childcare, then you have to think if it as being more like a Child Minder rate than an evening sitting on your sofa whilst they sleep. You are asking quite a lot to wrangle 2 small dc on public transport and to a soft play centre. I think you'd have to offer £8 - 10 an hour, if you want to pay a fair rate for the work.

and I'm generally a person who would say £5 an hour for sitting in your living room watching TV....

Our soft play requires the supervising adult to be over 18, so I'd double check that.
