Bottle feeding

Getting really stressed by this

Started LO on tommee Tippee anti colic size 1 teats and she fell asleep constantly and ended up getting ill so could be related why they didn't work

Changed to vari flow teats which helped at first but now she's constantly soaked where she's dribbling most of the bottle plus she guzzles franticly and ends up choking as so much goes in as she's clearly sucking quite hard

I Have changed back to size one today as the choking is killing me but now she's not drunk a whole bottle at any feed (does half then the other half about an hour later as clearly realises she's still hungry)

I'm at the end of my tether - do I keep the vari flow knowing she can't hack it or stick with size one and basically feed almost every hour (dread tonight!)

Any suggestions will help

What age is she? Have you tried just a size 2 teat instead of variflow?

None of my babies have ever got on with Tommee Tippee teats, I use either MAM or Dr Brown's bottles, it might be worth trying a cheap bottle from somewhere like Poundland to see if they help. If she's dribbling a lot of the feed has she been checked for a tongue tie?

How old is she? It is definitely worth trying other bottles or a size 2 if she can't handle variflow.

One thing to consider if you have no luck with trial and error is also tongue tie, a size 1 might be frustrating but a variflow is really difficult for a baby with tongue tie as they don't have much control.

try Dr.Brown's anti-colic bottles. Works great.

She's 3 weeks

I've put her back on size one and she's finally drinking at a better pace! The size 2 and vari flow were obviously too fast for her :)
