Toddler grabbing my face

My fifteen month old grabs my face a lot and it can be quite painful. In particular he likes ‘hooking’ his fingers into my mouth and grabbing my lips. Does anyone else’s toddler do this? I get a bit fed up of it Blush

There's an amazing picture from my wedding of DD doing this exact thing to my mum Grin It was def a phase! It will pass.

I used to have to hold dds hands to stop her from doing this. If she hurt me I'd say 'ow!' And immediately put her down so she couldn't reach my face.

Yeah, my 3yo does this. Annoying and painful at times but there are worse phases (like squealing).

Presume it’s not because of eyesight or hearing issues, my daughter went through the same stage.

All three of mine did.

I think it is a developmental phase of being interested in mouths (speech, eating....)

It hurts

Yes my 17month old does this. Always pokes too and says eyes, nose, mouth etc… so thinks she’s just interested. Praying it’s just a phase too. I just move her hand, and say “kind hands” which is what they say at nursery, or say ow.
