Yes horseshoe has to have the open bit at the top to be lucky

Talisman is a good luck charm

A baby born in its sac is called a "in a caul" or something like that

No Robin is right.. tis a common misconception.. seeing a black cat cross you path IS lucky.. but has to be a totally black one. A totally white one is unlucky.
