And once you do, how often would you let them play it per week? Any other sort of rules to go along with it?

Thanks

Creative? Anytime survival? My 9 year old struggles with survival mode

I tend to let them get on with it as far as timing is concerned on the the weekend as long as we arnt going out I just treat it like non messy lego

We have a no unsupervised playing with strangers rule and the side bar is switched off in online relms if they are playing online with friends and strangers can play too they can't see the "chat" part and do not engage with chat they use there phones to talk to friends as opposed to using the chat

Any age. It's great. I'd turn off the chat function (if it's ona tablet or phone) and make sure they know that you will be checking. Tell them not to speak to anyone online at all. If they play with friends on something like an xbox or playstation tell them that they can only speak to friends that you know and if their friends add friends to the chat make sure you're aware of these friends and check if they're swearing or being inappropriate. If the child is quite young, make sure they play it in the same room as you to make sure they're following your rules. TBH if they are chatting over mics and headphones you will probably hear them roaring anyway as it is never quiet. Minecraft is a fantastic game for motor skills, imagination, maths, construction and teamwork.

Creative mode since he was about 6 with no restriction or time limits. Survival mode he only plays in a closed group with his dad. DS is nearly 8.
