my 6 month old has a rash that looks almost hive exept its not. Rash has spread like crazy since I thought it was just drool rash from teething 😭 the doc said ringworm fungal infection but nobody else has gotten it and its supposed to be contagious???? This doesnt make sense. HELP 😣😰😭 I would add a picture but I dont know how.

You can catch ring worm from dogs and cats too, I caught it from a stray kitten once. or could be from toys shared with another kid? Have you got the cream? It goes away in about a week just wash your hands so you don't catch it and give it back to baby.

Oh and to add photo it's the paper clip next to preview button on a comment :)

My dd had the same. Only realised it wasn't from dribbling when it spread to her legs and arms. Used the cream for a couple of weeks and she's been clear since. No one else in the house got it. Make sure you don't share towels etc.

It is contagious but it doesn't mean everyone will get it. Like head lice or impetigo or covid even, it's not guaranteed and there are steps you can take to limit risk of spreading it. Eg. Don't share face cloths or towels, wash hands thoroughly if you touch the rash.
