Hi have a newborn on the way.
Was wondering how important are black out blinds/curtains from 10pm to 6am ?
Right now if a car goes by the room does light up a bit ?

Please help thank you

It doesn’t matter to begin with so much, but the summer they are six months onwards they often have an awful tendency to wake at 5am, so anything you can do to help with that is good. We had blackout blinds and blackout lined curtains.

My son won’t go to sleep during the day inside the house unless it’s reasonably dark so upstairs and in his cot with blackout curtains is perfect for him

They will become important for day naps when the baby is older and napping in their own cot. I out one up at around 7mobths old and her naps went from 30mins to 1-1.5 hours! Wish I'd done it sooner

We have black out blinds in all bedrooms and our living room.
I don't think it is overly important for babies tbh, all ours have stayed in living room with us (tv/light on) until we go to bed and not had issues. Our youngest is almost 7mth and happily sleeps through noise and light, the older ones shouting and dog barking didn't make her stir at all from the day we brought her home.
