Need solidarity with mums. 14m+ rubbish sleepers

Oh guuurlllll

My littley is 14m. She's never never a sleeper. Twice in her life we've had a sleep till 7am. Otherwise we've been up at least once.

A good night for us is 7.30 to 4am when she has a bottle. She then goes back to sleep with me albeit disrupted sleep for a couple of hours.

Lately she's been up at 1.30 too. Sometimes a visit to her cot and a there there and she'll go back herself. But usually not and in she comes with me.

We do have a chilly house so do wonder if she wakes up more if cold.

She will NOT go back to sleep after about 3am without a bottle. Tried it all. Seems to be genuine hunger.

She can self settle fine. We put her down awake and she does the rest.

We've had every sleep regression going over her little life. Guess this one is as she's walking a bit now. But we never seem to finish one before the next starts

I don't think there's a solution, although if you found something that worked I'm all ears. Just want some mummas to tell me you came out the other end. Or still in the thick of it with me.

PS I get some support but hubby has full on job and I only do 16hrs a week. He's terrified of co sleeping and hates that I do it (but gets it). He won't do it and I get that too. So he can help at the midnight/early hours self soothe point otherwise it's me!

OP the lack of sleep is horrible isn’t it. My almost 14 month old co sleeps with me and constantly latches on throughout the night. He wakes me every hour. He also has eczema so scratches when he’s feeling too itchy. He’s always been an awful sleeper and wakes even if you move an inch.

I can definitely offer solidarity but I'm not sure if it'll cheer you up or not! DC2 is a horrendous sleeper and needed a bottle at night until about 18 months. We tried to night wean around 14 months, didn't work and DC dropped down a weight centile as well so clearly still needed it. I swore blind I'd never co sleep and never did with DC1 (who is a fab sleeper), but still do for at least a couple of hours most nights with DC2 (now 21 months old Blush). Chronic sleep deprivation is the worst - just do whatever you need to do to get you the most amount of sleep!

At least yours self settles. Still haven't cracked that with DC2...

Come out the other side. DS2 didn't sleep through till he was 2 and a half (he's now 12 and sleeps well). I think when he was about 2 we put a full sized mattress on the floor of his room. He transitioned from cot to that, and it was easy for one of us to crash out there with him.

Drink coffee and hang in there!

My DS is 4.5 years OP. He falls asleep at midnight and is up for 2.30am.

He woke miraculously at 4am a week ago. I felt like it was a lay in!
