Hi guys! I'm looking for some advice on what floatation devices to use with an 18 month old.

So my DD loves water and I want to take her swimming but last time we went was when she was 6 months old and so we used a floaty that strapped around her and she was basically laid down. It worked great, but now she's a bit too big for that kind of safety device, it would probably tip over if she kicks too hard.

I'm thinking of buying her a costume with built in floats within the chest/stomach/back to help her stay upright and encourage swimming, but I don't know if just wearing this alone is enough? Should she also wear armbands?

I know it sounds so silly but I've tried to google it and it doesn't seem to be something explicitly oulined. I think she would be safe in just the floating suit, especially only in the shallow baby pool with me & dad constantly with her. What do you guys think?

I've attached a picture of the suit I was considering (the pool in question is indoors so I don't need a full sun suit).

Baby swim lessons like Water Babies don't recommend floats in suits - they use woggles (pool noodles) and other types of floats they hold onto/you hold them on.
