First dentist trip/tounge tie investigation

I'm taking my almost 2 year old for her first dentist appointment and I wondered if anyone had any tips/experiences that will make the appointment easier for her/me. She has a lot of sensitivity about people looking at or going near her mouth but we've got her comfortable with teeth brushing etc, I just know that she'll be very reluctant when it's a stranger. Part of the appointment is also to look for a posterior tounge tie so any experience of that would be helpful too. Thank you!

Posterior tongue-ties are 'contentious' in the medical community. What has led you to wanting to get your daughter assessed, at almost two years old?

@givemushypeasachance it's complicated. We're having feeding therapy due to ongoing feeding problems from 6 weeks old and essentially being quite let down by the medical community (in NZ not UK). Therapist is convinced that there is a physical cause alongside lots of learnt behaviours. Tounge tie assessment is just part of the picture, we are also waiting on a swallow study too.
