Did anyone here NOT use a baby monitor?

We haven't bought one, baby will be moving in to their own room soon.

We live in a bungalow so baby is never far away, and in fact she naps in her crib in our bedroom for most naps anyway, so just really never occurred to me.

Are there people who just never used one?

We couldn't be without the video monitor. Yes, of course I can hear her, but that's not the point. I want to be able to see what she's doing and decide whether or not she needs intervention.

Didn't for eldest. Did do end time round because we had moved and the shape of the house was such that you couldn't hear them from the kitchen if either the dishwasher or the washing machine was on.
Basically get one if you want to, but it's not a necessity in some houses.

Ds only did asleep or awake and screaming Grin. It was great when he finally learnt to get off the bed at 9 months so he could just crawl screaming to find me instead!

We didn’t use it until baby went into her own room. We live in a flat so of course we can hear her if she wakes and cries but the monitor allows us to still keep an eye on her without opening her door and disturbing her. I like to check on her position in the cot etc before I go to bed so the monitor is still incredibly useful imo.
