When can children start bathing together?

I know people usually ask to stop, so this is probably a stupid question, but when can you start?

I have a 4 y old and 5 month old. Could I start as soon as the baby can sit up and I can have her in a little seat thing in the bathtub at the same time as her sibling?

Are there any reasons why they shouldn't share? I'm a bit worried of encouraging germ sharing as I have a bit of anxiety with stuff like that but I can get over it. It would make the bedtime routine much faster and save water! I think they would also really enjoy it.

Wouldn’t occur to me not to bath them together or at least use the same water!

Makes no difference.

Once baby can sit up, they can bath together but only when supervised. Also, i will keep the water really shallow, like 4 inches deep.

Dont worry about germs, the bath will be cleaning them. Also kids are meant to share germs!

Good luck!

As soon as the belly button has healed. Its much easier on your back once the baby can sit up though.

Mine did from a few weeks old, if not earlier. Toddler at one end. Baby having a quick dip at the other. Longer as the baby learnt to sit up.

I can't remember my 3 NOT sharing when little and I suspect it started with each baby at a couple of months old, if that. Obviously I was there holding the youngest but the other two just had fun and the baby enjoyed watching them. It was a tad splashy at times, but no major issues.

Thanks! I do feel it was a bit of a stupid question now oooops!

The reason I haven't yet I guess is because we inherited a baby bath from family and have been putting the baby in that with its own water but to be honest the bathroom is tiny and having that in there is driving me crazy, it's always in the way!

Dipping the baby at the other end of the bathtub it is from next week!

As per others, from a few weeks old. She was in a bath seat until about 4 months though. Now, at 11 months and 2.5 years, it’s the little one that is the terror - very splashy, tries to stand up, and picks on her big sister!
