Hi guys, so my 19 month old today morning fell off the bed luckily our bed is not to high he cried for a few second and then was quite and played like normal all day, now he fell from the sofa and hit back of head on the bottom of the table he’s been okay cried for a bit and now he’s just lying down as it’s his sleep time soon, should I be concerned? He’s just had a bad day and My anxiety is just creeping up should I be worried ?

If he’s eating, steady on his feet, no vomiting no dilated eyes and not sleepier than usual he should be ok - thats the advice I got from the hospital. Dd has had quite a few bumps a few which were spectacularly awful. But tbh I’d have him checked out if he hit a table. DD did the same and we took her straight to hospital as she had a lump and we were frantic with worry. She was fine no fracture (had an x-ray to check) or anything but she cried a LOT. TBH if it were me I would still go to hospital just in case

@Crookedman he’s gone to sleep now and he only cried for 2 mins and it’s not a glass table it’s like the bottom part of the table made of wood and there are no bumps or anything, and he hit it like an hour ago but he was fine after that, maybe I will get him checked tomorrow if a bump appears

It's okay for them to go to sleep if it's a time they would normally be tired. It's actually common for that to be the case with toddlers because they tend to have accidents when they are tired! I remember having this worry but it's normally absolutely fine.

Don't worry. And if he's sleeping, I was told to try rousing them slightly eg put your hand on him and see if he responds to that. If they are just sleeping they will move in response to being poked etc. Which doesn't mean sit there and poke him all night :) but you can do it once or twice to reassure yourself.

You don't need to go to hospital for a fall off the bed and a bump on the table. If there was significant swelling or signs of concussion or he did not calm down, those would be reasons to go. But it sounds like he's absolutely fine.
