Leaving out at school

Hi all,
My 9 year old daughter gets on ok at school but hasn't got one 'BFF' as she calls it. She seems to be reasonably liked by others, gets some invites etc but is not anyone's favorite.. Don't know why because I think she's great obvs! She is not a pushy child and lack a bit of self confidence. she often tells me things along the lines x and y said I couldn't play today because they wanted to be alone, or x y and z said it was a private game today so I just sat on my own.

This makes me feel really bad for her. I'm not sure if I should get involved or just let her work it out for herself. I'm reasonably friendly with the mums of the main culprits but not sure I can bring it up with them. Also I've only got my daughter's interpretation of events obviously. I've got a parents evening next week so I thought I would bring it up then with the teacher. Any advice or experiences?

Do bring it up, wellbeing is as important as academics. I could almost have written this about my 9 year old.

Over the years she has mostly played with boys with no issues, but recently has been playing more with girls and a couple of times issues with exclusion have arisen with one particular girl.

I am biased of course, but my daughter is happy, very kind and probably a bit naive compared to others her age.

I don't really know what to advise other than not encouraging the BFF stuff, instead encouraging a wide group of friends, inviting kind children to play dates etc.

I meant bring it up with the teacher for now. I'm not sure I would bring it up with parents.

Thanks for replying.

Yes I think my first step is to bring it up with the teacher.
Their class teacher had been on long term sick since September so they've had a run of supply teachers which hadn't Helen the situation I think. It's survival of the fittest in the playground. The current one is gonna stay til at least Easter though so worth discussing I think.
