Any stories of CMPA/Carobel/pepti junior?

Hi all
Been hospitalised with my 3 week (nearly 4 week) old since Monday with suspected cows milk allergy and reflux. We have been given aptamil pepti junior on prescription and carobel to help with the reflux. I’m really struggling with feeding as the carobel is thickening the milk so much baby can’t get the milk then she screams so much and gets hysterical so i end up having to make a fresh feed as its got too thick and we end up in a viscious circle.
I was using tommee tippee anti colic bottles before this and we went up to size 3 teats to use with the carobel hoping she could take the milk but we were struggling so the hospital gave us disposable bottles to use but with nuk teats which seem to be working a little. I’m just really struggling right now, we have gone from having a happy content baby to absolute carnage out of nowhere. I’m so anxious and I can’t see a way out of this. Has anyone used carobel and can offer any tips on using it or what bottles to use?
It doesn’t help i have a son at home who is missing me and hospital are strict on visiting so husband is restricted. We have swopped over today and husband is with baby so i can see my son for abit but i’m going back tonight. I just feel so down and trapped, i’m even wondering whether we did the right thing having another baby as its got impossible to handle and i feel awful for saying this but its all just gone wrong out of nowhere 😭😭

Hi, I can’t offer much advice unfortunately but I’m currently going through the journey of a baby with reflux and it’s awful. If you have Facebook there is a group called “silent reflux, reflux, CMPA, allergies & intolerances in babies” which is full of people who have a lot of experience and give great advice so might be worth posting this there x

Can you reduce the amount of Carobel you use? It was the thing that made a massive difference to my son although it is trial and error to know what consistency worked. He was about 6 months though before we finally tried carobel.

We also moved from Tommy Tippee bottles to Dr Brown and found them a lot better.

As pp has mentioned you can get a lot of good advice in FB groups.
