Educate me on vapes, do I need to worry?

DD18 had what looked like a nerf gun bullet yesterday and told me it's 'just a vape' and doesn't have nicotine.
She knew I wasn't overjoyed about this and said it's only for when she goes out clubbing (so why was it next to her on her bed??) and I know she's old enough to make her own choices but I know nothing about them.
Google isn't helping, either says they're bad or not as bad as cigarettes, so thought I'd ask on here whether I need to be concerned about it?

Obviously vaping is preferable to smoking but if she has never smoked then yes, you and she should be concerned. The research on non-nicotine vaping is still in its infancy and of course no one can yet know the long term effects but it does look like the flavourings, which are considered safe because they are used in food, can lead to lung damage and that the heating action can release harmful particles into the lungs. this is quite a lot to plough through but has some interesting information.

She's 18

But vaping is daft, its useful for people addicted to nicotine to help them reduce smoking. Otherwise a waste of money, questionable for health and does nothing for you.

But her choice at the end of the day, although you can tell her not in your house and not using your money.

Thanks, it's her money and her body I guess but I can say not in my house. I don't want to make it easy for her...

And definitely talk to her about how pointless it is. It was created to help people replace cigarettes. If she hasn't ever smoked, she has no need to vape. (ex smoker )
