12 week old not hungry?

My DD is 12 weeks old, and really doesn't want milk.

She started off being a absolutely chunkster, drank all her bottle and was progressing up the bottle sizes at a pretty good rate! It even got to the point where someone said to be careful how much milk she gets because the health visitor will tell me off for over feeding her, but if she's hungry, I'm hardly going to starve her!

For about week now, maybe a tiny bit longer, she just doesn't seem hungry. She's alright in herself, laughing and smiling, yelling at us all day long! She plays with her rattles - absolutely nothing out of the ordinary - but she just isn't drinking a lot. The HV said she should be drinking 6oz bottles, every 3 hours still. For context, she managed 4oz at 5am, refuses the bottle at 8am so fed her at 9:30 when she started being fussy. She's drank 1.5oz and now she's refusing it again. It'll be like this all day. I can guarantee she won't finish a bottle.

Has this happened to anyone? I'm going to see the HV again this week for a weighing, and struggling to see a doctor. She was such a good eater, and now I'm starting to get worried that she won't even finish a bottle. I know all babies are different, but she isn't getting anywhere near the average about babies her age should be eating. Is food regression a thing? I'm really trying to talk to a doctor, it's just so hard to get an appointment.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Am I just being worried over nothing?

Teething? Puts them off drinking as it hurts to suck and makes them feel generally grotty

Maybe the teat size needs increasing? Could also be teething or a cold?

Isn’t 6oz every 3 hours a bit much (8 feeds)? That would be 46oz in a 24hr period. My GP told me babies should roughly be drinking 2/2.5oz x how many lbs they are. For example, my daughter is 9 lbs so in a day should be taking 22.5oz. Maybe space the feeds out. According to my cow and gate box you should be doing 5 feeds a day so approx every 4.5-5 hours. Let her become hungry and see what schedule works for her. My daughter can’t last to 4.5/5 hrs so she’s taking 3.5-4oz every 4ish hours.

Maybe the baby does longer stretches between feeds at night? My 12 week old has 6oz every 3 hours in the day but generally misses a feed overnight and then has a longer gap between the next so has 5/6 feeds in 24 hours. So between 30-36oz.

I’m having a similar issue with my 12 week old. Do you mind sharing what happened in the end? Struggling to get him to finish his bottles and worried about him loosing weight as this never used to be an issue
