Hey ladies my son is 13months and before he loved food me and my partner never had a issue with him eating now that he's turned 1 everything has changed he still loves fruit and he nibbles at his veg but he's his snacks

However any other main meals that he gets he starts to fuss or nibbles and he's finished within 10min or so we offer him foods we are eating like Shepard's pie , pasta , salmon , fish , beef etc we eat lots of different home cooked meals

But I'm not sure what to do to make him eat properly I still give him formula but I time it before his meals so I know he won't still be filled up from the milk

He doesn’t need formula now and shouldn’t be drinking from a bottle. Is there a reason he can’t just eat the same meals as you?

This is fairly typical. I think it’s that when they start walking they get really picky to avoid them eating poisonous berries in the wild!

Tips: eat with him, don’t make a fuss, your job is to give him a range of foods, it’s his job to decide whether he eats them. And restrict snacks, though I know it’s hard. I always serve something that I know they will eat alongside other food: plain pasta, mashed potato, rice or bread.

Try not to stress about it, they all do it and it will pass. In about 3 years.

@Duracellbunnywannabe

I thought the same thing nut I have to offer him it as he's not eating enough food so his milk gives him the nutrients he's missing out until he eats properly

Agree about the formula
Especially not too close to a meal their tummies are still so small

Also second having something they will always eat. With my thre it was brown bread and butter or Philadelphia spread on it or a few bits of fusilli with pesto stirred through

The worst thing you can do is get stressed. Babies and children are like dogs they smell Grinyour stress and fear
