Best way to sell baby stuff?

Finding Facebook local groups and marketplace a waste of time. What sites do people use to successfully sell everything from baby clothes to cot, pram etc? Thanks for any recommendations Smile

I’m wondering this too. I usually just give things away as they don’t seem to sell online.

I’m in this boat too, mostly with old clothes.

I did buy one or two “bundles” of baby clothes second hand on eBay when I was pregnant, maybe try there? I’m thinking of doing the same.

Vinted?

I'm actually having a fair amount of success on FB. So far I've sold bundles of clothes, a next to crib, undercoat drawer & cotbed. I'm selling the clothes as one big bundle rather than individually & often with 60-100 items per bundle. I research what other people are selling for too.

Facebook. What is happening? I find things like cots go for 25% of their RRP, prams and clothes for virtually nothing, if you’re lucky about 10% of RRP.

Well exactly, id like to get sensible money for things - especially as they're very good condition and cost a fortune new.

It's a strange one as some things seem to have a really good resale value and others just don't. Eg baby bjorn bouncers and connecta slings (from my experience) sell for good prices.

I think there might be a touch of PFB about it too. I fully intended to buy a secondhand travel system but when it came to it I just wanted something shiny and new for my first child. Friends who did buy secondhand talked about what a bargain they had, so I think people would rather pay full price for new or very cheap for secondhand. I don't think many people would pay say 2/3 of the price for nearly new.

Duracellbunnywannabe · 20/02/2022 20:20

Second hand things are only worth what people are willing to spend. It sounds like you are wanting more than they are worth to people.

Lockdownmummy · 20/02/2022 20:24

Clothes on Vinted - although prices tend to be on the low side, but I am just glad they are getting used and not going to landfill

Other stuff on FB marketplace or Shpock. Pricing is tough - people will always haggle so you'll sell for lower than you originally put up but you don't want to price too high to put people off!!

Have you looked to see what prices the same items are listed for? That will give you a better idea of what you can reasonably achieve price-wise. There maybe a market for individual branded items, but it really depends on whether you're happy to wait for someone to pay what you want, or whether you just want to get rid of it.

For clothes I sell on Vinted, I don't ask for a lot maybe £1/£2 per outfit but it soon adds up. I've sold £150 worth of stuff since December. I look at it as it would just be going in the bin/donated so might as well get something for it.

sunshinecitrus1 · 20/02/2022 23:08

I have some stuff listed on Marketplace and Gumtree. To be honest I have been mostly successful on Marketplace but maybe Gumtree is worth a shot for you?

Chely · 21/02/2022 00:39

I used to sell on ebay but now either save them for siblings or donate to charity.
