...and now it's almost 3pm.

I'm frazzled and all alone with her, don't know what is wrong. She woke up as normal for a feed around 4.30am - refused to latch on to either side.

Since then it's been a constant round of short, poorly latched feeds (she's normally great), a lot of screaming and NO sleep.

She went down at one point around midday for 10 mins and it just seemed to recharge her for more screaming.

Any ideas?

might be a nursing strike. keep on offering, she'll probadly come round eventully. do pay more attenstion than normal to how you are sitting and she is positioned, she might not be latching on well coz something gone worng with how shes lieing. If shes getting a a bit biger you might wantto try some different positions, may be with her being a bit ( or a lot) more upright.

Shes probadly going to be grumpy but she'll not starve in one day.
Is she in pain from teeth? sort that out with parcetamol and she might cheer up.

HAve you phoned a breatfeeding councellor if you want some one to talk too? 08444 122 949 is teh Assoc of breat feeding mothers help line. 0870 444 8708 is NCT breastfeeding counsellor line. Both have helpfull people on the other end of a phone line.

Thanks!Forgot to say she is 3wks so not going to be teeth.
Called the ABM or similar, someone has already been out to help me with my latch, they just advised to keep trying too. She has slept for an hour or so now so I'm slightly less frazzled..

glad your a bit less frazzed. its hell when they do this isn;t it. ekep trying, your milk IS important to her, she just doen't understand her part in it yet. TAlk to ABM again tomorrow if you need to.
In teh middle of teh night try and remeber "this too, will pass" . Everything loks worse in teh middle of teh night. any milk you get into her is good for the next day or two.
You might want to express to keep yourself comfy, and keep your milk supply up with outteh stimulation of her suckling. You might want to try giving her some expressed milk from a small cup or a spoon , in a measuring syringe or just on your finger.
