Please help,

My lovely 2year old is now terrified of everyone except his parents,
This only happened within the past few days it's like a switch has been turned on,
Generally he is shy but this is extreme!

When a child or adult other than his parent approaches him or talk to him he shuts his eyes, covers them and falls to the ground crying, I'm exhausted and desperately need some help

No trauma, no risk, nothing ! He just turned like a switch

Any advice is greatly appreciated

My ds gets like this when he sees his childminders (as in official childminder and my mum) because he's switch on to the fact I'm leaving him for a while. Could it be this?

Possibly,
I'm just trying to reassure him and talk him thro everything we're doing

I'm lost about it tbh

My 2yo was very much like this (and still sometimes is). I try just to ignore it mainly and try to show her that it's OK by chatting to the person. Or will say to DD "oh they're wearing a nice coat, what colour is their coat?" Or try to relate it to people she likes like "oh maybe he is a grandpa just like your grandpa. Do you think he likes playing football too?"

I think the main thing is to persevere and not make a big deal out of being afraid.

Thank you very much

I've noticed he is picking and choosing who he does it around so it's not the same people

Milky buttons change his mind also so I fear he is messing with me !!

Separation anxiety?
My son cries when somebody comes into the house as he thinks i'm going out, even though he's fine when he's dropped off at nursery every day! Once he realises I'm staying then he's fine.

Chocolate bribes are the only way sometimes haha
