3 month old sleep tips…please!

So Dc 3 months old is my 4th…yet I still need tips!
During the day he’ll drift off happily in his buggy or the sling or in my arms. He’ll stay asleep. He’ll even occasionally go in his buggy in the kitchen awake and I can walk away and he goes to sleep. At night up till now I was feeding him on the sofa downstairs at about 8pm after the other kids were in bed and then putting
him in his Moses basket next to me. I then took basket up to my room when I went to bed, and he stayed asleep until about 1 when I fed him and put him in his cot. (A standard wooden crib type thing). He then woke up every couple of hours till 7. All okay

. He’s now outgrown the Moses so am trying to get him down in his cot in my room at 8ish. I’ll then go up and down checking on him before going to bed myself at 9.30. But for some reason he will not stay asleep in his cot for longer than 10 minutes at the start of the evening!! I put him down, and within 10 mins he really upset.. tonight I’ve just brought him down and he’s snoozing on me downstairs but surely I’m creating a rod..? Or is this okay? Let me know thoughts!

No. It’s not safe to have him sleep upstairs. There needs to be an adult in the room where he is sleeping because it reduces the risks of SIDS - no one is certain why just it does. To be blunt checking on him won’t stop him from stopping breathing it will just help you discover it more quickly.

Its fine to have him sleep on you on the sofa, assuming you are awake.

Maybe it's too quiet upstairs? If there is normally more background noise when he sleeps downstairs?

I'm FTM to a 3 month old, I put Netflix on the iPad near her when putting her to bed in the evening. Seems to work (for now anyway)

Yeah definitely awake. Just watching tv and stuff. Why’s do you think other people do when the Moses is outgrown but they still need to be downstairs?? Get a bigger Moses basket?

My DC2 didn't have a regular early bedtime till about 7mo. He just used to hang out with me &DH downstairs and get passed between us. He really enjoyed the last series of Line of Duty. Suddenly something flipped and he started having a 7.30 bedtime.

We swear by white noise near the cot. Sends us all into a deep sleep

@Sausagesausagesausage
Ah okay, that makes me feel way better. Thanks!

I've started using the pram bassinet for downstairs naps since he outgrew the moses basket.
