Bladder prolapses

Oh the glamour of being a parent! Long story short, I have a bad bladder prolapse. I’m 12 months post partum. I saw a consultant at 4 months post partum who said do the exercises and see where you are at 12months pp. well here I am and it is no better (probably worse what with carrying the baby).

I’ve been seeing a women’s health physio and didn’t feel like I was really improving. So I swapped to a different physio. New lady seems good. She did some investigations and found out that I possibly have nerve damage on one side of my vagina. This seems in line with what I can feel. I can squeeze one side of my vagina while doing pelvic floor exercises but can hardly squeeze the other side. I’ve been trying the last week to engage my weak side, but don’t feel I’m having much success.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with a weakness on one side? Did it get better with time?

Also has anyone had any surgery to correct a bladder prolapse? I wouldn’t want mesh, so only interested in non-mesh options.

I don’t think a pessary will work for me as a tampon is an absolute no go!

Please please please, some positive stories only. I’m finding this whole problem very upsetting and it is really impacting my mental health. I think about it every second of the day. Unfortunately there only seem to be negative stories on the internet so I’m really hoping someone has a positive story! Thanks in advance
