Toddler poop! TMI

My toddler (almost 3yrs) has done 1 (sometimes 2) solid poop every day since he weaned, and never has any accidents since we potty trained 8 months ago. In the last two weeks he’s been doing several soft stools, not watery diarrhoea but quite urgent large soft stools, and often complains of tummy ache, a painful discomfort rather than sicky. This started last week with a mystery virus where he was dizzy with a fever for a few days and did a few huge loose stools, but no one else caught it and it never developed into a stomach bug. He’s not been right since. His appetite is fine, if anything he’s insatiable and doesn’t want to stop eating, and he’s generally well in himself if a bit tired

I suppose ultimately I’m anxious there’s an underlying issue developing but have no idea what and GP was very dismissive. Is it normal for toddlers to have phases like this?
