Social services CAHMs multi-disaplinary team

Hi,
My little girl was referred to cahms by her school. As my children have a social worker the CAHMs referral was closed as the social worker didn’t refer her.
The social worker has now had a meeting with a CAHMs social worker to discuss my little girls referral. The social worker has said my girls referral is going to be discussed by a multi disciplinary team now.
Does anyone know what happens next? I’ve not been invited to the meeting with the MDT team but thought I would be?

It is normal that social care oversee all referrals to outside agencies (like CAMHS).

The school will be involved in the multi agency meeting, usually alongside the local healthy families team.

Does your child have a child in need llan or child protection plan? If you do then usually parents are involved in the development of that plan, which is multi agency meetings. If your child is still under social care investigations, then multi agency meetings (in my local authority) don't involve parents at that stage.

I think you are getting a bit muddled OP...sounds like the original referral will now be discussed, as requested by SW, by the Camhs MDT at their next allocations meeting....it will decided if the referral meets their threshold for accepting onto their waiting list. It is purely a professionals meeting, quite normal

MDT in CAMHS is generally just the CAMHS team. So there'll generally be the team manager, the consultant, therapists, support staff.
It's just to consider the referral and a plan for intervention.
At that stage it wouldn't include outside agencies like school.

Yes MDT for CAMHS is a discussion amongst the CAMHS team on whether your dd meets criteria for any kind of assessment, they will all sit and go through the referral paperwork and either signpost to anywhere else which would be helpful (usual fob off) or decide to assess / offer you an appointment / put you on the waiting list for CAMHS.

Totally normal for this to happen Flowers
