Hey guys-

I have a little 6 week old! He was congested at birth until about 3weeks old . I spoke to the public health nurse and she said this should clear and I used saline drops. It cleared for about 10 days and is back again. Using saline drops again but any idea what can be causing this to come back?

Colic?? - baby has been presenting very upset for the last 10 nights - very red in face, high pitched cry and seems in a lot of pain. Tires himself out from crying and will fall asleep however, the crying only lasts for 5 minutes intervals. Is very fussy and a bit miserable otherwise . Appears to be wind pains - we use colief and colic milk. Baby also suffering from reflux - some silent (he swallows it down and gags) and let’s up a lot other times- GP prescribed Gaviscon but this seemed to cause
constipation followed by a softer stool - baby cried A LOT after this and appeared in a lot of pain . Using SMA comfort currently .

Any advice or suggestions on what to do? Any advice for trapped wind, formulas that have worked?? Sorry for long post - have 6 week check up on Tuesday with doctor

My DS used to suffer with terrible colic and reflux- baby massage was a game changer as was a foam wedge under the mattress in his crib (we were careful to buy one used by NHS) and pram.
We used SMA Comfort combined with Infacol - I did use the Colief drops for a while but was advised that they make no difference and honestly didn't notice a difference when I stopped.
We had to stop and wind him at least once mid bottle. Doctor advised to do this three times each feed and then at the end, but generally once did the trick.
Nuby bottles were the ones for my fussy LO but they're all different. I tried every bottle going! Nuby used to send a free bottle- might be worth checking if they still do.
I really feel for you and your little baby, please remember that it's all temporary and you'll both find the right solution soon x
