Breast feeding and alcohol consumption

So my baby boy is 3 months old nearly 4 now, last night was my birthday so it's the first time I've been out for a drink since discovering I was pregnant. However I ended up drinking LOADS vodka, shots, larger, gin, I was surprisingly okay though (obv drunk) when I got home, I know I shouldn't and it's really bad but my baby was crying and was refusing the bottle off my bf so I just said I'll breast feed him, (I know it's really bad) but after that I went to sleep and got a few hours, woke up a bit dizzy and rough but totally fine by 11, all the while I've been breast feeding since early morning. Will my milk definitely be okay? I've read up about it and how the milk is okay, however I'm not totally reassured 😭

www.nhs.uk/start4life/baby/feeding-your-baby/breastfeeding/can-i-breastfeed-if-im/drinking-alcohol/ 2-3 hours per drink for alcohol to leave your body. How many drinks did you have?

He'll be fine. I had to do the same once. Then DH had to fetch me a basin so I could be sick. Not my finest moment. I think you would be dead before your milk contained enough alcohol to affect the baby. There was a good article in the Telegraph about this a couple of years ago by a doctor. Don't pump and dump either. The biggest risk is that you are too drunk to care for the baby but since your husband was with you, that's not a problem.

You have to drink a lot for the alcohol to be in your milk, he probably got some alcohol from it but it'll be fine. It used to be commonplace to give babies a bit of brandy to get them to sleep!

It's not a good idea, but it's done now so I'd just forget about it. Having the odd drink while bf is probably better than being teetotal for ages then drinking masses.

You can do precisely nothing about it now so I'd stop letting it bother you.

Hardly any alcohol gets into the milk, minuscule amounts, don't worry about it.

This.

I'm sure I read somewhere that for the amount of alcohol in your milk to be large enough to have any impact you'd basically have to have alcohol poisoning.

Not sure where I read that or whatever but I've breastfed after having a few drinks.

Really don’t worry about it, absolutely no booze makes it into your breast milk, that’s a myth.
I nursed both babies after a skinful, as long as I wasn’t too drunk to care for them properly!
