Two year old obsessed with her dad and behaviour is terrible

My two year old dc really loves her dad, which is great of course, but it's to the point she is obsessed with him and her behaviour with him around is unbearable. If he is there all she does is cry and scream to be picked up by him and carried. He does it quite a bit but obviously it's not practical to do it all the time. For own thing she is big for her age so it's uncomfortable/impossible to carry her for long. During dinner she will sit there screaming "daddy daddy" over and over.

He can't take her to soccer class or swimming, and she won't do the lesson, just scream for him to carry her.

If he is not there she behaves normally for her age, not perfect of course, but happy to run and play, do her swimming lesson etc.

Its really quite unbearable. None of the time they spend together is enjoyable for either of them, or indeed the entire family, because it's just screaming and tantrums. Any one had similar?
