How do I approach this?

Hi all,

My son is 12 and quite a sensetive lad. I have found out from his brother and friends that at school he wants to be treated as a femboy? This came from nowhere and being so young I was surprised however want to make him know that as parents we understand and support how he feels. How do I approach this?

Whats a femboy?

What is a femboy OP? Sorry not being ignorant just never heard it before? Is it something like feminine boy?

I've been looking it up and got this:

an adolescent male whose appearance and behavioural traits are regarded as conventionally feminine.

We are a close family and the boys tell us everything however he must not be fully comfortable. He has had a girlfriend but apparently had a boyfriend as well. When I was 12 we wouldn't dream of having girlfriends etc however so many of the kids seem to be declaring themselves as a different gender etc. It may be a phase and I want to talk to him about it. I was going to take him for breakfast and a walk tomorrow and try to make him understand that as parents we support him no matter what he feels etc.

Well what you said above seems perfect to me. It’s a lovely thing to do with you son, he is lucky to have a mum like this

Thank you Smile

I just want to make sure that he doesn't worry about ever opening up to us. Life is so much harder for kids now with social media etc. Lots of pressures and I think they question themselves a lot more.
