Advise on schools in new forest

Hoping I may find some parents with experience on schools in the new forest area.

Particularly interested in the alternative schools such as Ringwood.

I would greatly appreciate any advise given.

Private or state? Which part of the new forest- Southampton or Bournemouth side? Or north?

Private, close to brockenhurst, but I would drive 20/30 minutes for a very good school
