Hi everyone. To cut a long story short I work in a preschool and I am looking to get pregnant soon with baby number 2. My phase leader and another member of staff are pregnant and are due very close together . There has also been a recent high turnover of staff.
Dh and I have had different views about having another baby . But he has now changed his mind and would like to try for one more baby. Dd is nearly 3. I feel worried to try for a baby right now as I feel like work will have something to say with three of us pregnant in the same small team of five staff with one leaving for a new office job.

Dh believes he is now getting too old and said he wouldn’t like to try next year so would like to try pretty soon.

Aibu to worry about what work think about me trying for a baby now with the current staffing situation

Don't worry about work! This is your life. Part of running a business is accounting for maternity and paternity leave (and sickness and people quitting and carers leave and bereavements etc etc). And most businesses, no matter how small or caring, wouldn't hesitate to do what's best for the business even if it had a negative effect on employees - so you do what's best for you!!!

Also it could take 6-12 months to get pregnant. It would feel awful to wait a year then it taking a year anyway to fall pregnant.

You can't delay or cancel big life decisions based on what work will think, put yourself first.
