What do your dc take to bed?

What do your dc insist on taking to bed with them? My ds takes ALL of his cars, tractors, lorries etc... so many that there is hardly any room for him, but at least it gets him to bed! I take them away once he is sound asleep!

A library worth of books
A menagerie of soft toys

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 10/02/2022 16:54

2 stuffed bunnies

Vehicles here too! Mainly trains and cars. I used to remove them, now I leave them there. They rattle all over the place when he moves in his sleep but somehow it doesn't wake him up!

PinkWaferBiscuit · 10/02/2022 17:03

Some nights it feels like DS takes approximately 20 soft toys, 15 books, 10 vehicles and 5 random treasures other nights he takes nothing but his favourite stuffed Teddy.

Although once when he was about 18 months old he was found completely passed out in bed hugging his shoe... It felt like an insight into having a drunk uni student home for the holidays. 😂😂😂

tealandteal · 10/02/2022 17:05

DS is allowed to take one thing (he has lots of cuddly toys in his bedroom) and it’s always something random. A tractor, car, new toy.

PeacefulInTheDeep · 10/02/2022 20:30

My 3.5yo DS has to have his favourite soft toy and a book, plus a cuddly crocodile on top of him over his covers. My 2yo DD needs her 3 favourite soft toys within touching distance, and her dummy.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 10/02/2022 20:32

Well tonight he's currently laying in my bed, with 3 dinosaurs, 1 monkey, 1 meerkat, several books, a blanket and me. I'll be moving him back to his bed shortly and the monkey and meerkat will be going with him.

Tay17 · 10/02/2022 20:34

EVERYTHING

Haha. Literally anything in sight when he realises it’s bed time 😂
They are so funny!

HerRoyalHappiness · 10/02/2022 20:36

DS2 is 6 and takes his favourite Teddy with him.
DD is 8 and takes about 50 teddies with her

DS1 is 13 and still has his Teddy from when he was a baby in his bed.

It changes daily but it’s always something coveted with violent passion that is completely forgotten about the next day. Recently we’ve had:

Gro Egg
Coin purse
Harmonica
One of my dirty socks from the washing basket
A nappy (clean, and not the one she was wearing - an extra one to hold)

I drew the line at a saucepan half filled with pesto pasta Grin

CatRatSplat · 10/02/2022 20:37

Books all over the bed, I move some later on but if they are asleep on them I can't 😂

GTAlogic · 10/02/2022 20:39

About a million squishmellow toys (dc 2 aged 9) or soft, fluffy teddies (dc 1, aged 10). There are so many in their beds that it's a wonder there is room for them to sleep!

Lou573 · 10/02/2022 20:41

A selection of soft toys, tiny figures, barbies and accessories with faces that follow her from room to room around the house. Woe betide she wakes up in the night and can’t find one…

Florin · 10/02/2022 20:48

Tonight our ds has gone to bed with the proper doctor’s stethoscope they he has been asking for which arrived today. He is thrilled with it! Other than that the normal 11 million soft toys. We also have to double check he isn’t sleeping with one of his Guinea pigs in his bed too.

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 10/02/2022 20:49

Ds 7 still has his baby blankets tucked under his head!! No soft toys though.
Teen dd's have a dcat each. A real one!!

Hmum0fthree · 10/02/2022 20:50

@Letsallscreamatthesistene

2 stuffed bunnies
Also 2 stuffed bunnies! And he won't sleep without them!
lolololloo · 10/02/2022 20:53

I think literally anything they can smuggle in their bed.

When I change my oldest DC bedding I usually find books, pens, notebooks, colouring books, cuddly toys, kindle, squishy toys, fidget toys and an alarm clock! To be fair she has a high rise bed so it's not immediately obvious and she is old enough to make her own bed. So it's just on the day I change the sheets it takes me twice as long clearing all the bits off her bed. Then the cycle begins with her taking things up again until the following week. It's a nightmare

areyoubeingserved1985 · 10/02/2022 20:54

My 5 yr old takes what I think is the starwars galaxy - darth Vader, 4stormtroopers, r2d2, c3po. Also mr funny, puppies, bunnies, giraffe and leopard.

UserError012345 · 10/02/2022 20:55

Me.

Astraj · 10/02/2022 20:56

My 2 year old daughter takes a few soft toys to bed, 1 large peepa pig, 1 cat, 2 bing bunnys, she takes them everywhere lol

lljkk · 10/02/2022 21:21

pet cats

crosbystillsandmash · 10/02/2022 21:26

Mine are grown up now but I recall (fondly!) that they took bloody everything they could to bed including me!!

Imissprosecco · 10/02/2022 21:30

The driver's cab from the duplo train, which he has declared to be "yummy yummy cake" for roughly the last 6 months. 2 year olds are hilarious 😂

itwasntaparty · 10/02/2022 21:45

So much shit! The soft toys are on rotation but there are eight or ten key ones who are there every night. They stack loads of toot on their headboard, crystals, bath bombs, anything they've bought themselves.
