my baby was very unsettled last night, the one thing that seems to get her to sleep when she’s like that is being cradled and bouncing while sitting down. the other night i bounced harder than i usually do, head was supported but i’m overthinking that i could of hurt her or given her shaken baby syndrome :( i’m a first time mum so i’m not sure if i am just being stupid or not. she’s 3 months old and seems fine, i think just overthinking too much but i need some advice :(

Your baby will be fine. Shaking is a deliberate, violent action where unsupported head is repeatedly shaken back and forth and the repeated "acceleration deceleration" causes internal damage. Shaken baby syndrome isn't accidental. 1

It may make you feel better to just agree with yourself that you won't rock quite so vigorously again, just for your own sake! I hope this puts your mind at ease, being a FTM is full of panicked moments!

Get a grip, in the nicest way possible! Smile
