Husband keeps kissing baby with cold sore

I'm in an absolute panic - my husband keeps kissing our 2 month baby despite having an active cold sore. He keeps saying I'm overreacting and his cold sore is gone (it isn't). I've sent him links and screenshots as he doesn't believe me how serious this is and he is just being so stubborn, I have no idea why. I don't know what the hell to do!!!

I get cold sores and I’m terrified of my baby getting one, she’s 4 1/2 months. It actually says on things I’ve read you shouldn’t even let someone hold your baby if they have a cold sore. I would literally LTB for doing this and I’m not joking! Selfish idiotic man!!

My mum would never let anyone kiss us when we were babies - in the early 1950's - so this information has been around at least as long as I have.

Tell him that babies can die from complications from the herpes virus I don't want to worry anyone and the chances are very small but he obviously isn't understanding the message I think that's disgusting of him to do that tbh my sister kissed my son on cheek yesterday with a great big Crusty coldsore on her chin , after she told her own child she coudlnt kiss him as she had a coldsore she said it was ok because she put a patch over it , let's just say I've no desire to speak to her again, my son's friend ended up in hospital due to herpes virus and her mum stood and watched her kissed my son on the lips at the park so sick of having to point out to people how to behave , only ones who say coldsores aren't a big deal are ones who have them , I dont think anyone is in the wrong to not want coldsores never mind the complications it can cause babies

They prevent skin to skin transmission but as the virus lives in saliva it doesn't do that much to prevent spreading

Just wondering was your little one okay?

My DD was in hospital for a week with this as a four month old, she was very lucky

Ohh sorry to hear, but glad she is okay! Do you know how she caught it? Were the signs obviously to take her to a&e? X
