Weaning 6 month old - he is always being sick after Milk feeds and has gone off his milk

Hi any advice would be much appreciated as currently feel like I’m doing everything wrong and don’t know where to start

I’ve been weaning my 6 month old for about a month, I began with purée’s and now I have started mixing it up with baby led weaning too so boiled veg, toast, reduced sugar rusk and also giving him full fat Greek yoghurt so far..

However everytime I feed him with a bottle (he’s formula fed) he is always sick afterwards and it’s like an adult sick not the usual milk dribble.

He has also gone off his milk as well during the day I barely get a couple of ounces down him every few hours. Until night time where he will wolf down a 6/7 oz bottle before bed then wake up once during the night (sometimes twice) for another 6/7oz bottle then in the morning he isn’t interested in milk at all again.

He’s always been quite a sicky baby, right from day one, but the adult smelling sick is something that has happened recently and it also happened when I introduced yoghurt he was sick after so I wondered if it was a dairy thing…? So I bought a dairy free yoghurt instead to trial, and he wasn’t sick after that but still being sick after his bottle feeds.

I’ve spoken to health visitor she said to do a food diary for a few days then speak to GP but in meantime I’m at my wits end …. any advice??

Thanks x

Have you introduced the allergens carefully? You've mentioned quite a few in that list not just dairy.

If you're a month in I'm guessing he's ready to drop a milk feed.

Both mine dropped their lunchtime milk shortly after they reached 3 meals a day.

Try not offering one feed and perhaps reduce the amount for the other feeds.

Over the next few months he will start to decrease his milk as he eats more food -
This is ok and the point of weaning.

I found they dropped feeds at 6 months, 9 months and 10 months. By 11 months they were on 2 milk feeds a day and sleeping through.
