No one told us there'd be days like these...

Up at 4am this morning with DD (6 months, seems to like an early start!). Out of bed by 6am to organise stuff for day out - was going to visit old friend with new baby in London. Her house is only 45 mins away from mine but the drive is an hour and a half normally (oh how I love the South Circular).
Got both kids ready, packed food, bottles, toys, books etc, plus cake I'd made for friend, and set off. Got to Bromley and had to turn round as traffic so dreadful. All the way home had DS crying about not going to my friend's house, DD screaming, got home, couldn't park, got indoors, baby now inconsolable. I've fed her, no idea what is wrong with her but she just won't stop crying.
And it's raining so can't even take DS to the park later.
Two and a half hours in the car total, with none of the pleasure of the trip at the other end.
And DH has just rung and said he's going out on the piss tonight!
I'm counting the hours to bedtime already...

Some days lulupop - you just can't do anything right can you!? And the funny thing is, you almost know it from the moment you wake up. It's really odd!
