Glad its not just us that are having a quiet night, my best mate is coming over with her ds, so once all the kids are in bed there will be me, my dp and my bf. I did feel like everyone else is going to have a great time and we're just staying in being boring arguing over who is getting up first! We all stayed together last year, my bf is a single mum so its always her turn to get up, dp got up first yesterday and I got up first today and last NYD so I think i'm definatly safe to get plastered and have a lie in..dp thinks not but I feel harsh making my bf get up fist when we have 2 kids and she only has 1 and she hardly ever gets a lie in!

DrNortherner · 31/12/2007 14:15

We're off to Dh's bro's, his wife and 2 kids plus MIL will be there. We have pink champagne and patry nibbles and will be playing games on the Wii.

MIL is cooking a roast for us all tomorrow.

becklesparkle · 31/12/2007 14:16

Nothing! Just relax (and eat more chocolate) once children are in bed - am 4 days overdue with DC3 so DH and I can't even get tipsy to celebrate!

MrsWeasleysmagicmincepies · 31/12/2007 14:16

I am usually ironing I think its a daft attempt to start with new year with a clean slate! In reality I start the new year surrounded buy piles of washing

I think I need to re-think for next year, DC will be older maybe a party

onlyjoking9329 · 31/12/2007 14:18

i will be watching monty python on channel4m i have have a few drinks too

OverMyDeadBody · 31/12/2007 14:20

My lovely big family are having a dinner party at my parent's big house. Sis and I are cooking, there will be ten of us. Nothing planned for midnight though, most likely we'll be watching a film.

It's just another night like any other really, be glad you are not out in town surrounded by drunk louts, remorgaging your house to buy a few drinks and left stranded out in the cold at some god awful hour of the morning coz you forgot to book a taxi. Far better to be snuggled in bed with a duvet

robinredbreast · 31/12/2007 14:27

There are early fireworks in town, which we'll go and see but apart from that, I'll be sat at home very glad I have a child and am "unable" to go out and drink obscene amounts of alcohol. So relieved to not have to do that hyped up - pressure to be doing something great - best night of the year - crap that we used to try and do.

Clayhead · 31/12/2007 14:46

dh is working so I guess I'll watch TV or just go to bed!

CountessDracula · 31/12/2007 15:00

Mates coming round
having a chinese banquet from the Gourmet Oriental
Playing poker
Having a few drinks

v quiet!

MulledWino · 31/12/2007 15:01

Staying up to see NY in with DH and probably DS1 (15). Having a few drinks and nibbles, like we have everynight for last couple of weeks! (I am going to have to work to shift this post-Christmas stomach... )

Friends used to come round on NYE and we'd play games etc but now they all go to a party where everyone takes their kids and put them to bed upstairs. Can't do that with DS2 (SN) though.
