Starting nursery

My ds is starting nursery in April 2.5 days a week. He will be 20 months. I own my own business and can't keep up without ds going into nursery!

I'm absolutely terrified, excited but so sad that I won't see his face all day everyday.

Please give me experiences of how long it takes to get used to it! And when the guilty feeling that I'm leaving him will go away 😫

I cried the first day and occasionally if I was emotional. My kids were absolutely fine.

It settles after a few weeks but there still weeks or days when I have horrible guilt.

Try to focus on the positive, they learn so much at nursery, social skills and tend to eat lots of different food to what we have at home.

It took my DD about 3 minutes Grin

She had a few settling in sessions and loved every one. Now she loves going to nursery, and when I pick her up I can watch her through the window for a few minutes, it’s lovely to see her doing her own little thing.

It’s quite amazing how quickly you become used to and glad of the peace and quiet at home too!
