ok, so what do you do with your lo's milk teeth after the "tooth fairy" has collected them?

DS is 5.2. His first milk tooth fell out this afternoon (it's been wobbly for weeks - I'm frankly amazed at his capacity to not wobble it! )

He has carefully put it into the tooth fairy box he was bought when he was christened ... and we have the shiny coin ... incidentally, what's the going rate for milk teeth?

But, what do we do with the tooth once we've been the tooth fairy and collected it? It seems a bit careless to chuck it on the bin ... but a bit macabre to hold onto it ...

We gave 50p for ds's first tooth that fell out.
I can't remember where I have put it
I haven't decided what to do with them but I'm sure I have a fw of mine lurking around that my Mum kept

I've kept them all in a wooden tooth thing for that purpose. I think we left a pound - it's been ages since ds lost any baby teeth

My mother kept them in her purse -she had a large old granny type.

One day she dropped it and all the teeth fell out. Was disgusted. My brother remembers the 'purse/teeth' incident also with utter distaste.

note to self ... do not put ds's tooth in my purse ...

(wouldn't put it past me to do that at the moment too!)

When my mum was moving abroad she was clearing out the loft and found all my baby teeth in a little jewellery box - I was 29!!!

put them in my make-up bag untill i find a suitable place,only for them to be forgotten about then found by nosy 8 year old dd 4 years later who then decides to con the tooth fairy and re-use them.

cue 'you know that father xmas isnt real?well..' type conversation

50p a single and £1 a double is the rate in our house.dd1 just hands them to me now,though

DS (5.9) lost his first milk tooth a few weeks ago, he got 2 euros and I've kept the tooth (ve cute & dinky!) in the secret bit in my jewelery box for now...though that will get full up as more are left for the tooth-fairy-mouse...
