Umbilical cord?

FTM. We are on day 8. Cord still in place. Haven’t bathed or touched it but noticed this evening there was a little bit of dried gunk on her nappy and vest. Small slight smell off it. We have touched it and moved it and baby hasn’t texted. Just wondering is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Well I’m not surprised they haven’t texted! It looks normal to me but if your worried ask the midwife to have a look. If the skin on your baby around it becomes red or warmer then seek medical advice.
