15m old was a bit โ€œoffโ€ yesterday. Went down to sleep fine at 7.30pm, woke up at 10.30pm SO snotty ๐Ÿ˜“
Woke every half hour until 1am and now wakes within 5 minutes of being put down in his cot ๐Ÿ˜” Ive raised up the head end so itโ€™s not flat, heโ€™s got Snufflebabe balm on and the Calpol plug on but so far theyโ€™re not helping ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ heโ€™s sound asleep as soon as I hold him upright so currently sitting holding him in the armchair in his room where Iโ€™ve been since 1am (after about 1 hour of broken sleep ) ๐Ÿ˜ด

My alarm goes at 6am for work ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜ด Iโ€™m absolutely exhausted ๐Ÿ˜” anyone else awake?

@Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople Well Iโ€™m sorry youโ€™re awake too, but itโ€™s nice to know itโ€™s not just me Flowers

No chances of falling asleep at the desk, itโ€™s an 8.30am-6pm shift on my feet in retail ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

@Samsara12 Itโ€™s hard when theyโ€™re not well isnโ€™t it? I havenโ€™t tried baby vicks but I think the Snufflebabe balm is the same thing, just a different brand. Mine has 2 molars cutting through too so I know how you feel!

At 10 months mine seemed to be constantly ill. Lots of the baby groups in my area started up again around then so we finally got him yo some groups and he just picked up everything ๐Ÿ˜“ within a month he had a cold, Hand Foot & Mouth, another cold then a tummy bug ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Currently sat with 10 month old on my boob, slept about a grand total of 4 seconds last night I think Grin hoping it's not the same again tonight. You're not alone, even at this hour! Flowers

@RS29 we had weeks of nights like this with our newborn. Sympathies!!! We went a bit delirious from the lack of sleep. First of all my three year old brought home some sort of viral
super cold from nursery, then once we were all finally over that, we all got Covid including 12 week old baby. Not fun! Saline spray and the snot sucker were most useful.

Sleep still shite though, even now weโ€™re all well. Been 11.30, then on the hour since then. So freaking tired!

Hope you manage some snatched sleep!

TheHeartGoesLast · 03/02/2022 04:56

3 year old and 18 month old both have colds, last night I didn't get to sleep til 3am because as soon as one fell asleep, the other would wake up. Well, sometimes with a 20 min gap, just long enough for me to start drifting off...

Went to bed at 9 tonight while DH did the first shift, DD woke at 3am, now up with DS who is feeling not feeling well, poor thing. It feels endless sometimes, doesn't it! DD is a bad sleeper anyway and I can't currently imagine a time when I might get a full nights sleep or some time with DH. Solidarity to all!

@TheHeartGoesLast that sounds hard Sad I know how you feel with the bad sleeper - mine isnโ€™t great normally either! glad youโ€™ve got DH there to take a shift! Mine is great and happily does his fair share when heโ€™s here but he works offshore and is away at the moment so Iโ€™m itโ€™s just me ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

I've been up since midnight with my twins - I think I've had 2 hours sleep (before midnight) and have a long work day with lots of travel - if I wasn't so tired I'd cry

I read yesterday that an onion (raw chopped in half) placed under or near the cot can help with congestion.

Too late to help with last night, but worth a try tonight?

RS29 · 04/02/2022 06:14

@pieonthesofa I wish Iโ€™d seen your post last night ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ™ˆ Iโ€™d have filled the room with onions if it would have helped by little snot monster ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Ohhh Iโ€™m so sorry to read this!

I havenโ€™t tried it but definitely will be anything that can help right?!

Also, donโ€™t know if itโ€™s been mentioned already but a humidifier can really help too, I got one from Argos for around ยฃ30 I think. Hope youโ€™re little snot monster is better soon and you get some rest โค๏ธ
