Underarm temperature

So confused. What is a temp in a newborn? How do I take it under the arm? Midwife said to add .5 degrees to reading but NHS website doesn't. Is a fever 37.5 or 38 with this reading?

In a newborn the best way is in the anus..... you can put a bit of KY and use a flexible tip thermometer. And then just lay them on the side and hold the leg down
