1dpw nanny?

I had to go back to work last month when my baby was 3mo (I do contract work so no protected leave/ maternity pay.) I’ve been really struggling with being away from her so much, and I’d like to go down to 4 days per week on my contract (which I think my bosses will be ok with, for a few different reasons, although I haven’t yet asked.)

My problem is that we have a wonderful nanny, who was difficult to find, and who wants 5 days’ work as she is trying to get a mortgage. I don’t want to lose her and go back to square one looking for a 4dpw nanny.

Do you think there’s much demand for 1dpw nannies? I’m wondering if I can try to help her find work for the 5th day? I just don’t know anyone who works 1dpw (imagine it is quite unusual?) so I can’t picture it being very easy to find the extra day.

Thanks for any advice!

I have a one day per week nanny job but I have been looking for another day (or two) and there is little around, in my area (West Surrey outside of M25).
