Hello guys!

I'm hoping some of you can help as I'm
Absolutely drained and not sure what to try or do anymore!
So my son is nearly 18 months old he still hates sleep! I got him into a routine of him going in his cot sleeping through two months ago but now he's constantly awake until 1-2 am then won't go in his cot, kicking up a fuss! So I let him stay in bed but he's so fidgety and I'm getting next to no sleep and trying to work and look after the house and him!

What can I try :( he goes really sleepy so I give him bedtime milk and then boom he's awake 10 mins later wanting to play or watch tv. I'm losing my wits. I'm mardy all the time cos I'm tired and can't keep concentrated at work it's so rubbish!! Health visitors just keep saying put him in his cot and leave him but he head bangs the cot till he physically hurts himself. Help Needed!!

What’s your routine? What time do you get him up in the morning, when does he nap and how long for? What do you do at bedtime when he wants to play and watch tv?

What are his naps like? If he’s wide awake nap might need to be dropped or shortened?

What’s his daytime routine like? Wake up time, naps, meals etc?

Although if you did want to do as HV suggested but it’s just the head banging that’s stopping then you could put the cot bed mattress on the floor, a stair gate on the door and remove anything fun like toys.

So he has his tea about 5 30pm, peppa pig for 15 mins then bath for half 6 then milk then try to get him to sleep but he fights it so bad just pulls my hair, scratches me and screams. I've tried not letting him nap and he's so tired but still fights it till gone 12 but when he's at my parents he goes to sleep at half 9 it's like he Doesn't want to be away from me and feels like he's missing out ect.
I hate seeing him so distressed so do pick him up and stuff so probably my downside isent helping the situation! I just would like to relax on a night and not have him 247 literally lol

Perhaps he goes to bed too early. Not all little ones are ready for sleep at 6.30-7pm.

So my LO is 19months and at the moment we work on 5-6 hour wake windows. So if she wakes at 6 we try for a nap sound 11-12. Hopefully she sleeps 1-2hrs. Then aim for bed approx 5-6 hours after wake from nap.

Sometimes they just go through phases though. Is he teething? Do you use white noise and black out blinds? These things both help my girl settle x

What time do you get him up in the morning? That’s more important than bedtime really.
