How did you know your little one was ready to go from a cot to a bed? Aside from safety reasons ie learning how to climb out the cot xx

Because I bought her a new duvet but accidentally got a single, it was too big to fit with the bars up and I didn’t realise until I’d put the old one in the shared dumpster. She was 2 and a half I think. No issues though, it actually took her a really long time to realise she could climb out!

At just over 2 years old, we realised on holiday that she had basically outgrown the travel cot. We had another holiday booked about 5 months later so we slowly transitioned to a bed in readiness for that.

She stays in her bed and hasn't once tried to get out without us being there. I'm pretty sure she'll work it out soon enough!

DS was one when I put him in a bed, it’s got boarders all around it so he can’t roll out in the night and it’s as low as possible to the ground. It was a very good decision as he hated his cage crib.

Oh bless them I have a feeling my DD will suss out she can get out straight away! I'm not sure if she's going through 2 year sleep regression or what but suddenly come bed time when she's asleep and I stand up to put her in her cot her eyes ping open and she's screaming no mummy no getting so upset and saying there pointing to my bed, we've never Co slept before, eventually when I get her in her cot and she stays asleep she's fine but as soon as she wakes up she's screaming and crying real tears shouting mummy, she just gets so upset going in her cot at night, but will happily play in it in the day. My mummy intuition is telling me she's ready for a bed, may be wrong lol 🤨
